Counterfeit Facts & Figures

Counterfeiting is a growing concern amongst brand owners.  On average, the global economy loses out on $600 billion each year from products bought and sold on the black market. These products span from counterfeit pharmaceutical drugs, to counterfeit apparel, accessories, electronics, auto parts, and more.

Approximately seven to ten percent of global trade is derived from counterfeit products, and revenues from these sales have grown by more than 400 percent since the early 1990s.

The effects of counterfeiting are far reaching. Many consumers are not educated on the consequences that come from purchasing a counterfeit product, which include unemployment, budget cuts to your community, and even funding for terrorism. In fact, counterfeit merchandise is directly responsible for the loss of more than $200 billion to the United States economy and 750,000 domestic jobs, according to the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC).
